Sgt. Tony Ferro began his career with the Gainesville Police Department (FL) in 2008. He has worked in several areas of the agency, including patrol, K9, Street Crimes Unit, Gang Unit, Patrol Support, Gun Violence Unit and currently is assigned to the SWAT team as the Assistant Team Commander. Sgt. Ferro has been on SWAT since 2010 serving in many different roles on the team to include Breacher, Sniper, Assistant TL, Team Leader and now the Assistant Commander.  In 2021 Sgt. Ferro completed the National Tactical Officers Association Command College.  He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1997 – 2001. Sgt. Ferro has served with the Florida SWAT Association since 2020 as a Regional Representative. Sgt. Ferro has also served as the Training Coordinator, Secretary, and current Director at Large.
